Wedding Timeline

Every wedding is different in size, culture, budget etc ... and though there's no photography timeline that would fit every tradition and wedding, we’d like to share with you what we believe are the ideal time frames to capture all the important moments. 1. GETTING READY (~2.30 Hrs)

Bride (Total time ~ 1.30 hr)

  1. Bride Details Shoots (25 min)
  2. Bride in Dress (30 min)
  3. Bridesmaids + Bride Candid Shoot (30 min)
  4. Girls Toast (5 min)

Groom (Total time ~1 hr)

  1. Groom Details Shoots (15 min)
  2. Groom in Suit (10 min)
  3. Best Men + Groom Candid Shoot (30 min)
  4. Guys Toast (5 min)

When we arrive on the day of your wedding, we will typically go to the bride's suite first and begin shooting the details like the dress, rings, shoes and bouquet. Small details serve in telling the story of your wedding day and we want to make sure we have plenty of time to get the perfect photos. Sometimes, the hotel room is too small or unappealing. In cases like that, we usually take the dress to the lobby or even outside. This can take some times, but trust us it’s well worth the effort. To save time, we always appreciate having the "details" already ready to be photographed.

    2. FIRST LOOK & PORTRAITS (~ 2.00 Hr)

    1. Dad first look (10 min)
    2. Groom first look (30 min)
    3. Girls Portraits (15 min)
    4. Guys Portraits (15 min)
    5. Bridal Party Portraits (30 min)
    6. Immediate Family Portrait (20 min)

This usually happens in the bridal suite, the lobby and / or outside. The ideal time to have this session is right after getting ready when the bride’s makeup is still fresh and the bridal party is still full of energy. If you have a specific place in mind where you’d like to have this photo session, make sure to include travel time in your schedule. Also keep in mind that for family portrait, depending on the size of your immediate family, you might need more time. Generally speaking, plan on 2 minutes per group of people.

    3. CEREMONY VENUE (~30 Min)

If your ceremony is happening in the most picturesque church in town or if you’ve invested a lot of time and effort in decorating the venue with flowers and antique objects to reflect the beauty of your culture we’d like to capture that as well. Please give us 30 minutes before the guests arrive to take pictures of the ceremony.

    4. COCKTAIL HOUR (~1 Hr)

We usually like to use this time to capture photos with your extended family and friends. Depending on the size of your wedding this may take up to one hour. Plan on 3 minutes for a group of people. So for example, if you have 20 groups, schedule about a 1 hour time slot. Also, keep in mind it can take a long time to gather a large group of people to take a photo, so it’s always nice to have a few helpers from each side of the family to round people up. We usually plan for the formal shoots with the select VIPs first and if there’s time left we go around and take candid photos with everyone else.

    5. COUPLE SESSION (~30 Min)

Sometimes we are running behind schedule and have to rush through the day, so if we didn’t have a first look session or we had to skip it this might be the only time left we have to capture your couple session. We love golden hour and like to schedule this session one hour before sunset. It allows us to create the most dramatic and scenic photos with colorful skies, especially if you’re getting married in an open area or at the beach.

    6. RECEPTION (~30 Min)

We understand how much time and effort your family put into making the most beautiful wedding venue for you. At the moment, you may not have the time to truly enjoy how much time and love went into the decor, but let us capture the details so you can appreciate it the day after and for a lifetime. So, very much like the ceremony venue, we like to capture the beauty of the reception venue with no guest or vendor in the area. Ideally, we’d like to have the groom and bride sneak in the reception hall for an informal first dance, which always guarantees amazing photos.

    7. SNEAK OUT (~15 min)

This is how we close your wedding day in style with a creative shot. For this particular photograph we usually like to incorporate city lights, fountains or mirrors to create an epic shot.

In summary, it takes a lot of photography planning to make sure we get all the shots you want. But don't be intimidated. We believe in order to create the best images we must plan and prepare for them. On paper this looks scary but we are always flexible with our shots and promise to make them relaxed and fun. The day will fly by, and we are excited to capture awesome photographs you will treasure for a lifetime.
