This Christmas I wanted to do things a little differently and take my family to the Magic Kingdom in Orlando. At first, I was hesitant to bring both kids on board but they behaved surprisingly better than I thought and the 8 hours flight there wasn't all that bad after all.
I've learned one important lesson when traveling with children especially if you have lots of luggage and plan on bringing your own stroller, that is to rent a bigger size car with a trunk that will fit everything. Prices are usually cheaper if you book online, so I was able to reserve a standard size car for about $50-ish for our 4 days trip to Florida.
It turned our double sitters stroller could only fit in a mid-size car, so we had to upgrade our car for an extra $25 per day. Oh I also forgot to mention, we had forgotten both of our car seats at home so now we were stuck at the airport with a car too small to fit all of our belongings and no car seats for Ayden and Chloe. Thankfully, I always bring my Chase Ink Plus credit card with me. After all the convenience and service fees, we ended up paying an extra $210 on top of the amount we initially paid before the upgrade.
I guess it's true, every great lesson comes at a great price.
